{"id":135348,"date":"2015-11-04T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T15:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.geraldgarcia.com\/wordpress\/?p=135348"},"modified":"2015-11-04T16:10:00","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T15:10:00","slug":"about-time-stephen-goss-and-tetras-last-stand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/geraldgarcia.com\/?p=135348","title":{"rendered":"About Time &#8211; Stephen Goss and Tetra&#8217;s Last Stand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/graphics\/covers\/AMG\/covers\/large\/265\/2652864.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"http:\/\/guitarsymposium.de\/?p=konzerte&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Iserlohn&#8217;s<\/strong> annual guitarfest this summer<\/a>, I had the opportunity to talk to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stephengoss.net\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Goss<\/a> <\/strong>about his busy composing schedule and the final concert of the Tetra Guitar Quartet, which he founded and has nourished over the last 26 years.<br \/>\nHe is one of the busiest guitar composers around, but also writes for orchestra and other instruments.<br \/>\nI also managed to catch the last encore which the specially reconstituted Tetra Quartet played at this, their final ever performance.<br \/>\nA historic and triumphant, but sad occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the interview with Steve Goss, whom I have known since he was a young student with extremely\u00a0short hair and an unflappable performing style (I remember a particularly unsubtle joke involving the Benjamin Britten Nocturnal and a condom at an early summer school of Steve Gordon&#8217;s in\u00a0Prussia Cove in Cornwall.
