Case recommendations
Accord – lightweight but expensive
Karura – still light, but a better price than the Accord
Calton – have always been strong, but heavy – new developments mean a lighter case
Hiscox – a lower cost alternative – make sure to get the flight case
Pegasus – the slim version might get your guitar on the plane, but padding is minimal
A canvas or cloth cover can make the case appear to be a soft one, which might increase your chances of getting it on board (paradoxically).

There are other not so expensive China and USA made brand and serve the same purpose protecting the guitars.
The most important thing is not the brand and it is about how the cargoes handler either the airport cargoes handlers or the courier services transporter handling the guitar. Surely, the sellers or guitarists put the label “fragile ” sticker on the hard case but the handler must careful not to stack or drop the guitar from certain height.
If possible, we can always courier the guitar to the destination we want to have a recital or concert. But I don’t see many pro guitarists doing this way.
It is much safer than normal commercial airplane because the cargoes courier company are professional and understand their importance of fragile cargo like musical instruments. I used to buy guitars from US and Japan through courier and every time it turns up in one piece.

Sometimes the “Fragile” sticker seems an invitation to baggage handlers to throw an instrument around as in Alison’s case
I am aware of many other makes of case, but have not had the opportunity to try them all!
A musical instrument is like an inseparable extension of a musician’s arm or leg…
So if it is broken (usually after an argument with ground staff) it is like adding injury to insult!
